A certified or professional translation is a translation certified by the professional translator or translation agency that performed the service, through the application of the translator’s signature and/or professional stamp.

It is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity or accuracy (in English: Certification of Translation Accuracy), which includes the details and contact information of the translator or agency.

The level of official recognition of a translation may vary depending on the country and the intended use of the document. In some cases, to obtain official validity, the translation may need to be sworn before a judicial officer, a notary, or a consul, depending on the type of document and the destination country.

A “cartella” refers to a standard page format used to calculate the length of a translation.

It is the unit of measurement commonly used for legal and technical translations and consists of 25 lines of 60 characters each, for a total of 1,500 characters.

For literary and editorial translations, a longer format is used (editorial page), consisting of 30 lines of 60 characters, for a total of 1,800 characters.

The cost of the translation is calculated based on the number of characters and, therefore, the number of “cartelle.”

Yes, sworn translation services can also be provided remotely.

The translated documents can be sent in paper format via registered mail (or insured mail) or by express courier, with payment made online or via bank transfer.
